As the largest affordable housing policy team in the United States, we focus on the greatest need for people and communities – the massive shortage of affordable rental homes.

We do that through our own policy work, in partnership with two national coalitions that support the critical systems of government tax credits, funding and programs that change lives. And we’re on the ground advocating for local legislation alongside partners at the state and local level.

Affordable Rental Housing ACTION Campaign

A Call To Invest in Our Neighborhoods (ACTION) is a national, nonpartisan, grassroots campaign of 2,400 national, state and local organizations calling on Congress to expand the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit.

HOME Coalition

The HOME coalition drives support and federal funding for the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), which provides formula grants that communities use – often in partnership with local nonprofits – to build, buy and rehabilitate affordable homes or provide direct rental assistance to people with low incomes. HOME is the largest federal block grant to state and local governments designed exclusively to create affordable housing for low-income households.
